Amiga Myst is sold in two versions - English and German. This is due to the fact that the game is so big, each version alone hardly fits the CD. (German users, please note that Myst is 100% German, from the box and manual, to the menu and speech in the game)

Other than language, both versions are identical.

Graphics-wise, retail copy of Myst is AGA only. However, all the graphics files for a gfx board version are already on the CD, so once you download the CGFX code you can enjoy Myst on CGFX and P96 compatible cards.

CGFX/P96 version can be run in two modes:
24-bit (16 million colors)
8-bit (256 colors), identical to AGA

Myst CD also contains a 14 minute self-contained QuickTime movie "Making of Myst", where authors take you behind the scenes of making of this magnificent game!

Myst uses AHI sound system by Martin Blom. The latest full version is provided on the CD. You do not have to install AHI, Myst will simply utilize it from a CD if it is not already installed on your HD. (although it is not necessary to install it, we recommend you do it for your everyday use, as more and more software uses it)

Myst installation program allows you to choose how much data you want to install to hard drive. The more you install to HD, the faster access Myst will have to those files, therefore the faster it will run (especially useful if you have a slow CD or CPU).
5Mb will only install the code and AHI
40Mb will install all the sounds
270Mb installs all the gfx
310Mb installs all the gfx+sound
